SATISH KUMAR VERMA
I am very fortunate to be a student of Guruji (Prof. Onkar Nath Srivastava).
I have completed my post-graduation from the Department of Physics, Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow (U.P.), in 2017, and move to BHU for pursuing Ph.D. under stemmed guidance of Guru Ji. Although Guru Ji has no need for any introduction but the first time I hear about Guru ji from Prof. Balak Das (University of Lucknow) in 2016 when he got Padma Shri Award for his extraordinary work on hydrogen energy.
We have cherished many memories and integral teachings of Guruji. One of them was Guru Ji's Mool Mantra, of the 3D-3P concept of success. The means of 3D are discipline, dedication, and devotion, whereas 3P means practice, patience, and passion. Guru ji always follows this mantra. Guru ji considered his work (research) as paramount even in the last moments of his life and kept working till the last breath. He wrote an email to me on 19 April 2021 for work even he was suffering from COVID-19. I am one of the fortunate who stayed with him in his last breath.
The sudden demise of Guru ji is a complete loss of all of us and for the world of science specially in the field of Hydrogen energy. We all hope that Guru ji will always keep his compassion on us and will continue to help us.
(With Guru ji during a lab visit of Dr. Prashant Atreya (Gen. Manager NHPC) at HEC-BHU).
Sincerely
Satish Kumar Verma
